2025 Mid-Year Model Updates
At Lotus Caravans, progress underpins every move we make. Every caravan we build carries the weight of 21 years of experience, and every year we find ways to make them stronger and better to tow. As of June 2025, we’ve rolled out a fresh round of upgrades across the range. These updates are part of our ongoing push to raise the standard in premium off-road caravanning, something we have proudly worked hard to do every year for 21 years.
This mid-year update reflects exactly what Lotus Caravans stands for. Continuous improvement and innovation, and an unwavering commitment to building the most capable off-road caravans in Australia.
LCX Freelander and LCX Off-Grid Join the 2025 Range

We recently made the unexpected mid-year stride of introducing the new LCX range to the Lotus Caravans off-road collection. Built on the proven strength of the Off Grid and Freelander, the new LCX models officially take their place as permanent fixtures in our off-road lineup.
The LCX range is built for travellers who want the full Lotus Caravans experience, but with more accessibility. It combines real-world toughness with smart interiors, high-end power systems, and lightweight design that opens up even more destinations. These models carry forward everything that makes the Freelander and Off Grid best-sellers, but sharpened to suit the way our customers travel today.
With multiple floorplans, serious off-road capability, and next-gen power systems like the LC Customs Power Stack and Starlink-ready setups, LCX delivers adventure without compromise.
The Move to Aluminium Frames Across the Off-Road Range

One of the biggest changes in this mid-year release sits at the heart of how our caravans are built. From June 2025, we’ve transitioned the Sprint, Off Grid, Freelander, and the new LCX Freelander and LCX Off Grid models to full aluminium frames. The Off Limits will follow, with aluminium now standard unless ordered with a slide-out. Our best-selling Lotus Caravans Trooper also sees a major update, now fitted with fibreglass walls to match its rugged reputation and to push its off-road capabilities even further.
The introduction of fibreglass walls on the Trooper brings added strength and durability without unnecessary weight. It delivers superior insulation and weather resistance for greater protection against heat, cold, and moisture across all corners of the country. It’s another step in refining our flagship model to remain the toughest and most capable off-road caravan in Australia.
How Aluminium Frames Improve Your Caravan Experience
So, why the shift to aluminium? It comes down to strength without the weight. We’ve tested and refined our AL+ Technology over years of real-world adventure. Now, we’re bringing that proven technology across even more of the range.
Aluminium frames bring a new level of durability while shedding significant kilos off the total caravan weight. That means better fuel economy when towing, easier handling on the road, and more flexibility when loading gear for extended road trips. Less weight behind the vehicle also gives caravanners more towing options and reduces stress on the tow vehicle over time. You’ll feel it when you’re climbing steep tracks and managing tight corners, as the van moves with you, not against you.
Aluminium is also known to be long-lasting. That means even after years of travelling in the harsh outback sun, or in heavy rain or coastal humidity, your caravan’s frame stays as strong as the day you picked it up. It’s light and tough, and some might say, perfectly suited to the punishing conditions many Lotus Caravans’ owners take on.
Smarter Builds for Serious Travellers
The decision to introduce these mid-year changes was driven by our founder, George Josevki, and by listening to Lotus Caravans owners. Like George, our owners are serious about how and where they travel. They’re towing heavy loads through some of the most remote and unpredictable parts of Australia. We know that Lotus Caravans owners need every component to work, year after year, without question.
By refining our builds and adopting aluminium frames more broadly, we’re keeping pace with where off-road travel is headed. Remote work, longer trips, and more adventurous routes are changing the way Australians travel. Our passion has always been to build caravans that match that lifestyle, while keeping comfort and luxury front and centre. And we’re confident we’re getting it right.
Lotus Caravans is Proudly Australian-made

Lotus Caravans is proudly Australian-owned, and every model in our range is designed and manufactured right here in Australia. As a certified Australian Made company, we’re proud to contribute to local jobs and Australian manufacturing. But more than doing our part for the future of the wider industry, when we design and build locally, we know we’re manufacturing off-road caravans purpose-built for Australian conditions. And it’s this simple fact that truly makes all the difference.
