How to travel in your caravan as a solo or in a group
There are many ways to travel and explore in your caravan. Some travel solo whilst others travel in a group, exploring the beautiful landscape of Australia.
Whether you choose to travel solo or in a group, here are some things to consider when choosing either option.

Travelling Solo
Choosing this option as we know it, gives you some freedom to choose where you want to go and when you want to go. You can also change your plans at anytime, giving you the flexibility to make a decision on the trip itself or seek and find as you go along. If you plan to go solo, make sure you have thoroughly checked the routes you’re planning to go on especially in terms of safety if you’re taking very remote routes. You want to make sure that you’re prepared for such remote travels. If you plan to go on remote trails, it's sometimes a good idea to actually take someone with you should you run into any issues such as your vehicle breaking down.
But, if you decide to go solo, make sure you prepare yourself. Consider all the risks before you go. Please ensure you have adequate communication, fuel, water, food - the essentials when travelling to remote regions.

Travelling in a Group
If you’re planning to travel in a group, it would ideal to have a UHF radio communication established so that you can chat to each other if required. As a starting point, it’s always a good idea to let your group know in advance what your next point or rest area will be, just in case your communication range drops out. Travel close together and don’t loose site of each other by keeping at a good distance at least a 1 kilometre or so apart. You don’t want to be running into each other so keep a good distance, enough so that you can see each other and be able to break or stop if you need to.
When travelling in a group, it’s always a good idea to set the ground rules before you set yourself off on your journey. The last thing you want to anticipate is spoiling a good friendship especially if you’ve been friends for a very long time. Along with this, you don’t want to start on a trip together to only end it and never speak again. There are many stories of those who have gone on trips with groups and have had a bad experience, sometimes regretting taking the trip in the first place.
Don’t be that group!
You need to have a structured itinerary, more so than when you’re travelling solo as all those involved need to agree before you set out on the road. Ensure you provide plenty of time so that each person can see what they want or make adjustments if they need to, should they be wanting to do something that maybe others in the group may not be interested in doing. It’s always good in a group scenario to work out those aspects prior so that way everyone is clear and knows what to expect.
By doing the above, this allows you to have an enjoyable travel experience along with ensuring that each person is able to still experience something that they might enjoy doing since we all have different tastes. It also means that everyone in the group is being considerate, enabling each person to be able to explore and enjoy something for themselves should the others in the group not be as inclined to explore that experience.
