Our favourite spots: Royal National Park
Considering how young Australia is as a country, it’s amazing to think that New South Wales is home to the world’s second oldest national park, Royal National Park. The Nasho has been going since 1879 and is just a skip and a hop from Sydney or Wollongong. There are plenty of day trips you can do here and you’re guaranteed to always be back for more. Do a spot of swimming or fishing at Wattamolla (make sure you’re hook doesn’t get caught on someone’s bathers), go bush through Forest Path or even do a bit of whale watching from Garie Beach. There’s so much to do and see here.
At the end of every day you can relax with a Barbie and just take in some stunning views.
