Where are you travelling to?

It seems obvious, but it’s easy to overlook the way you will be using your caravan. This will help you figure out the size, features and fittings you need.

Ask yourself:

• Will you be taking extended trips across the country or just weekend getaways?
• Going off-road or to the caravan park?
• Taking yourself, your partner, the kids?

Think about the types of places you want to visit, the distances you need to travel and the suspension you’ll need to get there comfortably.

Don’t just think about the immediate future either. Think long and hard about what you really want to get out of your caravanning experience, you may decide that you want to visit places you haven’t considered before.

Towing

The towing capacity of your tow vehicle is a major point to consider. You’ll only get as far as it can take you. Look into how much weight you can carry and whether it matches up with the type of caravans you’re looking at.

Type of caravan
