G&S Chassis - Celebrating 40 Years

Industry leader G&S Chassis has built a reputation for engineering reliable, high-quality suspension systems, chassis and components for caravans and mobile homes. Celebrating 40 years, the family-owned and operated manufacturer still operates upholding the same values of excellence, consistency and outstanding customer service.

Superior Workmanship and Innovation

The company owns two manufacturing centres right near our headquarters in Campbellfield, Victoria where a dedicated team of professionals uses laser and robot technology to meet the company’s strict safety and quality criteria. Expert welders, machinists, assemblers and finishers display superior workmanship to uphold G&S Chassis’ reputation as a forerunner in innovation.

Lotus Caravans, in partnership with G&S Chassis, has designed a revolutionary truss system chassis which helps cut weight to allow increased durability for its off-road caravans. The result is a chassis and suspension system with safety, dependability and smooth handling built in.

Performance and Compliance

Rigorous testing is carried out to ensure every product meets statutory requirements while exceeding clients’ expectations. State-of-the-art computerised design facilitates the development of products while physical testing is performed under the supervision of a chartered professional engineer. Nothing is left to chance as chassis and drawbar strength as well as fatigue resistance must comply with Australian Design Rules.

Recognition and Awards

G&S Chassis has forged a strong relationship with Lotus Caravans due to its commitment to safety and superiority. In 2012 the company won the CTIAV Award in recognition for outstanding service to the industry. Two years later, G&S Chassis won the 2014 George Pantazopoulos CTIAV Young Achiever Award.

Lightweight and Strongest

G&S Chassis manufactures the strongest and most lightweight chassis in the industry for our 15th anniversary Trooper, Freelander and Off Grid (tandem axle only) models. Exclusive to Lotus Caravans, it’s hot-dipped galvanised in a bath of molten zinc at a temperature of around 460 degrees Celsius. Exposing the zinc to air causes it to form zinc oxide which reacts with carbon dioxide to form zinc carbonate. The result is a chassis that’s strong and resistant to corrosion. And combined with the Control Rider 3.5T Twin Shock Suspension, it is rated to a 3,500kg gross trailer mass.
