Nature’s Way
Nature’s Way links two of the country’s most incredible national parks in Litchfield and Kakadu. Everywhere you look on this 5-day journey is just one amazing view or attraction after another.
Day 1: Darwin to Kakadu National Park
Make a trip from Darwin south-east towards Kakadu and over to Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve. The abandoned rice crops have transformed into wetlands teeming with wildlife. Take a scenic walk and then go for a cruise down the river to meet the jumping crocs.
Day 2: Kakadu National Park
You’ll kick yourself if you miss the sunrise over Ubirr in the East Alligator region so make sure to set your alarm for an early start. Afterwards, take in the beautiful rock art work and views around the park and finish with a sunset cruise at Yellow Water.
Day 3: Kakadu National Park
In the morning, drive along the Kakadu Highway to the Motor Car Falls Walk and trek up towards Motor Car Falls. Laze about in the waters and admire the butterflies before moving onto Gunlom Falls to see the 100m drop.
Day 4: Kakadu National Park to Litchfield National Park
Make your way through the goldmining town of Pine Creek and check out the local history on the way to Edith Falls. Here, you’ll find a deep waterhole below a series of shallow pools on top of the cliff. Drive to Litchfield National Park from here and take a break in the town of Batchelor.
Day 5: Litchfield National Park to Darwin
Get your fill of swimming spots and waterfalls starting at Buley Rockhole and finishing up at Wangi and Florence Falls. Head back to Darwin, stopping off at Berry Springs for an ice-cream and one last swim.
