Camp at Home Heroes initiative goes viral

In the lead up to Easter Caravan Industry Association of Australia launched ‘Camp at Home Heroes’, a camping initiative for people to enjoy while staying at home.

Easter is normally one of the busiest times of year for caravan and camping, with up to 300, 000 Australians usually heading off on a trip for the long weekend.

While the usual travelling isn’t an option in 2020, we wanted to keep the spirit of camping alive and keep camping front of mind for consumers in a tough time for the industry.

The initiative was incredibly successful, and gained fantastic traction amongst both consumers and news. The numbers of families participating online, combined with the positive commentary, indicates that many consumers are already looking forward to their first camping trip when it is safe to travel post-coronavirus.

Major national media including SBS, Network 10, 9 News, Triple M, and ABC stations around the country all covered Camp at Home Heroes, with coverage spanning across print, radio, online news and national television.

With travelling not an option this year, Camp at Home Heroes was designed to promote camping and keep the industry front of mind while also being fun, educational, family based and socially responsible.
